            FREE MEALS FOR ALL

GRAINGER COUNTY STUDENTS!

 

We are pleased to inform you that Grainger County Schools is implementing a program available to schools participating in the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Programs called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).

 

What does this mean for you and your children?

 

Great news! All enrolled students in Grainger County Schools are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no cost to your household each day of the school year. Your children will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application. This program begins on Students will still have the opportunity to purchase ala carte items; however, they are not allowed to charge for these items.  They must have cash on hand or money in their account to purchase any ala carte items.

 

If your child has a negative balance, it must be paid in full or have a payment plan approved by the Director of Schools in place.  Payments should be made directly to the Grainger County School System.

SCHOOL NUTRITION


   The goal of the School Nutrition Program is to promote nutrition balanced with great taste. School Nutrition employees are dedicated to the children of Grainger County and committed to provide safe and healthy meals which contributes to a positive learning environment and improved education outcomes.

  

Menus are printed and sent home every month or can be found here. Students are offered what is on the menu plus fresh fruits and vegetables every day.   Menus may be changed due to weather, delivery problems, field trips, etc.

 

Meal prices are as follows:

  • Breakfast - No Charge for Students
  • Adult Breakfast - $2.50
  • Visitor (adult) - $4.00, Visitor (child) - $2.00
  • Holiday Meal for Visitor -$7.00
