Department of Attendance

Thank you for visiting the Attendance web page for Grainger County Schools.

When students miss school on a regular basis, they are not receiving the same educational opportunities as students who attend daily. Students’ attendance can also be linked to poor performance and behavior issues in school. Each instructional day provides lessons and activities which are part of the bigger picture. When students are absent from school, they miss classroom instruction and activities, and daily lessons which are building blocks for each grade level. More often than not, students with poor attendance struggle academically and, as they age, find themselves feeling hopeless in regard to completing their education.

Our goal is to work with parents and students to address educational and attendance concerns, resulting in the student being successful in obtaining their diploma.
