The mission of the Grainger County Alternative Center is to identify and work with at-risk students who are having difficulty functioning in their regular school. The Alternative School will work in conjunction with principals, teachers, counselors, as well as parents/guardians to identify and target goals and objectives designed to improve behavior in school. This plan will be utilized as a guide to enable students to make needed modifications in overall behavior, attendance, academics, and counseling issues. The Alternative School is designed to be a short term (8-45 days) behavior modification program. The goal is to enable students the opportunity to change their behavior in order to be successful upon returning to their regular school.
